Requirements for Membership

Effective Fall 2010, the requirements for membership eligibility in the University of Mary Washington Chapter of the Psi Chi honor society are as follows:

Membership Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled at UMW
• Must be a declared psychology major
• Must have completed at least 12 credit hours beyond PSYC 100 in psychology at UMW
• Must have an overall GPA of 3.2 or above
• Must have a Psychology GPA of 3.4 or above

Special Membership Requirements for Transfer Students:

• Must apply to Dr. Erchull for manual review
• Must be currently enrolled at UMW
• Must be a declared psychology major
• Must have entered UMW with at least 61 transfer credits
• Must have completed at least 9 credit hours beyond PSYC 100 in psychology at UMW and at least 12 credits beyond PSYC 100 in total
• Must have an overall GPA of 3.2 or above (at UMW and combined with transfer grades)
• Must have a Psychology GPA of 3.4 or above (at UMW and combined with transfer grades)
